About Me

Little girl playing with soil outside near a road.

From Mud Pies to Paint

Since a little girl, I was always creating. My hands were always busy, my imagination going wild. From paper and paint, fabric and shiny things, but even to mud and wildflowers - I would turn it into something!

Classroom or Closet?

Sometimes I would be in a classroom with an instructor, learning a new craft or medium. Or depending on where our family lived at the moment, I would set up shop in the attic or a closet just to find a quiet space to create! I tried many things over the years from pencils to pastels to paint.

Would it sell?

Art was my companion my whole life, even though my practical side knew I could not make a living off of it. I went into music education as a profession but was always dabbling with something on the side. I had done art pieces for gifts over the years or a few commissions for family and friends, but one day I wondered - would a stranger actuallly buy my work? So I put a few pieces into a local consignment store, and the rest is my current adventure…..

Muddy Details

In other words, real life. Art is also actually my escape if I get some free time! Jump over to the MUSIC page to discover my “real“ paying job (but also something I love). And when I’m not doing that, I am kept on my toes and in gear as soccer mom, Uber, coordinator, chef, sometimes Doordash, and so on to two large growing boys. Our life is a circus complete with two sassy dogs, an unsocial barn cat, four ducks, and one tortoise.
